Shibari is the ancient Japanese art of bondage. In this workshop, we explore the different dynamics between tying partners through exercises that inspire new possibilities for interactions. For some people, the words "domination & submission" sound quite intense. If you change these words to "leading & following," as we know them from partner dance, it is much easier to connect through these dynamics. We discover new ways of consensual relating by clearly taking up polarized roles. We might identify patterns in how we interact in our relationships, consciously challenge them, and take on new roles we wish to embody.
After learning the essential knots, there will be room to experiment and hold Shibari sessions for each other in a guided container.
The environment is a safer and loving space where we emphasize the connection that establishes between the polarities. It will be with clothes on and without involving sexuality.
You can come on your own or already with a partner you would like to share this experience with. No previous experience is required.

We will learn a Tantric massage, that lets us connect with the five elements (earth, water, fire, air & ether) and incorporate this practice in our shibari sessions. We combine different qualities of touch with the ropes, creating a unique sensatory experience on your body. The different elements bring different energetic qualities into your massage experience and we will enhance this experience by incorporating ropes into the session to create more profound sensations.
